A Comprehensive Plan is the community’s blueprint for the future. It expresses a community’s collective vision and goals, provides an action plan for implementing the vision, and serves as the legal basis for any zoning, subdivision, or land use codes that the community wants.
Water Resources Focus Group Meeting: NEW DATE: MONDAY, FEBRUARY 2nd, 5:30 PM, Town Hall. Agenda. (Postponed from 1/26 snowstorm)
The Committee has been gathering quite a bit of data, but we need your help! We’ll share what we’ve gathered so far and ask for public input on summarizing the condition of the town’s water resources, as guided by a state checklist, and as part of the Comprehensive Plan process. Drinking water quality and the ecological value of the town’s ponds and rivers will be included in the discussion. This meeting is open to the public.

Who is involved?
The committee currently includes Lyndsey Marston (Chair), Grace Johnston-Fennell (Vice Chair), Rebecca Fee (Secretary), Ray Wirth, Eric Bunker, Troy Moody, and Ryan Wing. Meetings are open to the public and occur on the 3rd Thursday of each month, unless otherwise noted. Agendas and minutes are posted each month to the website.
Why is this happening?
Volunteers are working on a comprehensive plan because residents and landowners asked for it. In January 2025, a survey was conducted and a public meeting was held in March 2025 (VIEW RESULTS). The majority of respondents and participants indicated they are in favor of having a comprehensive plan, so a committee was formed to meet this need.
For anyone interested, the raw survey data is available here, along with graphics provided by Google Forms.
What to know about Comprehensive Plans:
- They do NOT include ordinances, regulations, or restrictions
- They DO include residents’ vision for the Town’s future
- They DO include goals and strategies for how to accomplish those goals
- There are LOTS of opportunities to get involved and have your voice heard
- They are approved by residents (and the State) and can be updated or changed as often as needed to reflect public feedback.
